In our test laboratory we use the latest testing technology to determine the deformation and sealing properties of your gaskets for you, reliably and accurately. We carry out tests according to various German, European and American standards. But we can also carry out tests according to customer specifications.

Upsetting testing

… for determining the deformation properties depending on the contact pressure and temperature of the gasket:

We carry out upsetting tests with our TEMES fl.ai1 multifunctional test rig. Our test laboratory is equipped with two test rigs of this type, so we can inspect your gaskets quickly and at very short notice. We are able to investigate the elastic-plastic deformation of gaskets with an external diameter of up to 170 mm, at a maximum force of 1000 kN and a maximum temperature of 600 °C.

Compressive creep testing

… for determining the substitute modulus of elasticity, depending on the contact pressure and the maximum permissible contact pressure of a gasket at room temperature or at raised temperatures:

We also use the two TEMES fl.ai1 test rigs to carry out compressive creep testing in our test laboratory. The external diameter of the test piece is limited to 170 mm, the available force is 1000 kN and the maximum temperature is 600 °C.

Leakage testing

… for determining the sealing properties depending on the internal pressure and the contact pressure of a gasket:

We also use the two TEMES fl.ai1 test rigs to carry out leakage testing in our test laboratory. Leakage testing is normally only carried out at room temperature. The external diameter of the test piece is therefore limited to 170 mm and the available force is 1000 kN. We developed the TEMES ta.luft test rig for component testing of real flanged connections. It is usually used to investigate gaskets with DN40/PN40 geometries, whereby a temperature exposure of up to 400 °C is possible.

Creep / relaxation testing

… for determining the creep/relaxation behaviour of gaskets depending on the contact pressure, the temperature and the stiffness of the test set up:

The relaxation test rig TEMES fl.relax is available alongside the multifunctional test rig TEMES fl.ai1 – especially for the investigation of the creep/relaxation of sealing elements. The application limits are a test temperature of 600 °C and a force of 1000 kN, the outer diameter of the test piece is limited to 170 mm.

Special tests

… for developing new gasket materials or suitability testing according to special company specifications (e. g. Shell, Total, …):

As well as carrying out standard testing, we also develop individual solutions for your field of application. For example, we have already carried out tests for high-temperature applications up to 800 °C. Fire-safe testing or blow-out testing are also possible in our laboratory.
