To control the bolt force applied during assembly, we have developed special displacement measurement elements – the "OKTO" sensors. These are set directly on the clamping fixture's tension nuts. They measure the bolt elongation with an internal pin throughout the entire clamping process.
The design is particularly compact, so they can also be used on flanged connections in "tight" locations with restricted access.
All stages of the clamping process can be seen online on the screen. This enables individual bolts to be adjusted precisely and the resulting prestress minimized to almost any level desired. At the end of the clamping process, the quality of the assembly can be documented with a report.
The measuring range of the OKTO sensor is 2 mm, the resolution is 1 µm. The data logging system is a unit for up to 8 sensors. As many units as desired can be combined so that the bolts can be measured simultaneously.
AMTEC itself also developed the accompanying software. Thanks to the experience gained from working with our customers, it has been continuously improved over the years and it is now possible to fulfil all logging and documentation requirements.
